Forging

Forgings are produced using a Weingarten 16,000 tonne screw press capable of forging components up to 2m in length and up to 350Kg in weight.

 

Use of a specialized twisting press offers the capability to twist crankshafts up to 1.4m in length and 200Kg in weight through +/- 120 degrees

True Hot Straightening

The Company have developed a bespoke method of checking and correcting TIR at forging temperature

 

Die & Tool Design

Die & Tool design is carried out at Lincoln using state of the art CAD/CAM software. Enhanced capabilities include forging simulation, 3D modelling and full CNC programming

 

Die Manufacturing

All dies and tools are manufactured in-house using a variety of modern CNC machines including:

High speed 3+2 axis CNC gantry milling machine used for the production of dies and tools up to 9m in length

CNC horizontal milling machine used for die preparation.

High speed 3+2 axis horizontal milling machine capable of machining die impressions to a finished standard

Die Refurbishment

The company have the capability of refurbishing worn die impressions using two robotic die welding systems

Heat Treatment

Full heat treatment capabilities include a vertical heat treatment facility with polymer, oil and water quench, with variable cycle times as well as traditional batch furnaces

 

Full Magnetic Particle Inspection & Mass Balancing

All forgings are subject to full magnetic particle inspection, under the supervision of qualified PCN Level 2 operators, before being mass or geometrically centred and packed for world-wide dispatch.

 

Schenck-Crankshaft-Balancing-Machine

Components for the mining industry undergo selective induction hardening to meet customer requirements.
